With a dance career spanning over 30 years, Kristen Pittman brings an abundance of dance talent and knowledge to the Arkansas dance community. During the past two decades, Kristen’s choreography and instruction has been routinely awarded by regional and national dance conventions and competitions. An established dancer, instructor, and award-winning choreographer, Kristen shares her vision and passion as a studio owner and artistic director of Rock City Dance Center in Little Rock, AR.

Kristen is an alumnus of The University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. While there, she was captain of the NCAA Division I Razorback Pom Squad. During this time, Kristen also traveled the country, managing large-scale dance camps as a Head Instructor for National Dance Alliance as well as serving as a technical dance consultant for ESPN’s coverage of the NDA National Dance Championships. Upon graduation, Kristen trained on scholarship at Broadway Dance Center. She has performed at major collegiate and professional sporting events, on nationally syndicated television, and in live theater. In 2010, Kristen founded Rock City Dance Center, which has quickly become one of the premier training institutions in the South. Starpower Talent recognized Kristen as National Choreographer of the year in 2013, 2016, 2017, 2018 and most recently in 2019.
In addition to her busy schedule of dance instruction, choreography, and studio art direction, this Arkansas native has traveled the world, sharing her dance knowledge at competitions, festivals and performing alongside some of the greats in the dance industry. Kristen is an International judge for Starpower, sought after choreographer and worldwide master class instructor. Her contemporary choreography was most recently highlighted at the Australian Dance Festival in 2018 and The Hollywood Avalon Theater - being honored at the 2017 Industry Dance Awards. She is also proud to serve as the Central U.S. Director of the American Dance Company. Kristen’s choreography for the ADC and Team USA was featured in performances at the 2017, 2018 and 2019 International Dance Organization World Championships in Warsaw, Poland, bringing home over 20 medals and distinctions. Her most rewarding role, however, is that of a dance instructor, choreographer, mentor and mom to Hazel.
